Jeffery P. Cohen
Jeffery (Jeff) Cohen is a Senior Foreign Service Officer with the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). He arrived in Jakarta in December 2021 as USAID/Indonesia’s Mission Director after completing a Master of Science degree in National Security Strategy at the National War College within the National Defense University.
Prior to studying at the National War College, Jeff served as Deputy Mission Director for USAID in Kabul, Afghanistan and Program Office Director in the USAID Asia Bureau in Washington, D.C. He previously served as Program Office Director for USAID Missions in Afghanistan, Peru, and the Dominican Republic. Before joining the USAID Foreign Service, Jeff served in the U.S. Peace Corps, first as a Municipal Development Volunteer in Bolivia (97'-99') and then as Associate Peace Corps Director in Honduras (00'-05').
A native of Detroit, Michigan, Jeff also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the James Madison College at Michigan State University in Political Economy and a Master of Arts degree from the Monterey Institute of International Studies in International Policy Studies.
