Cahyo Purnomo
Investment Promotion Director for East Asia-South Asia-Middle East and Africa, Ministry of Investment Indonesia/Indonesia Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM)
Cahyo Purnomo works as a Director of Investment Promotion for East Asia, South Asia, Middle East and Africa at the Ministry of Investment/Indonesia Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM). Previously, he served as a Director of Exhibition and Promotion Media from early 2021 to mid-2021. He attends ASEAN meeting regularly such as Coordinating Committee on Investment (CCI), ASEAN Investment Area (AIA) Council including RCEP, APEC, and sub regional cooperation (IMT GT and BIMP EAGA). He co-chaired Committee on Investment (COI) under ASEAN, Australia and New Zealand Free Trade Agreement (AANZFTA) in Vietnam in 2018 and Melbourne in 2019. From May 2015 to July 2016, he was appointed by Chairman of BKPM as a Marketing Officer (MO) for Singapore, Korea, Japan and Middle East. Prior to his recent post, he spent more than three years as the Head of Indonesia Investment Promotion Centre (IIPC) Abu Dhabi, UAE as the extension promotion arm of BKPM.
He joined BKPM in 1993 as a junior staff for public relations department then moved to a number of departments including human resources, investment licensing services, investment promotion and was named as the Head of IIPC Abu Dhabi in February 2011-mid-2014. He holds a master degree from University of Tsukuba, Japan in International Relations in 2007. He spent more than a year taking an investment promotion course under capacity building program called Training for Regional Investment Promotion (TRIP) ASIA in Germany (Saarbrucken, Munich, Erfurt dan Berlin) in 2003-2004 and attended a number of other investment promotion and international investment agreement courses in India, Turkey, Morocco, Singapore and Shanghai sponsored by IDB, ADB and APEC. An avid traveller and a sport enthusiast, he has a goal to run a marathon to challenge his mind and body to the limit. However, due to the recent Achilles tendon injuries on his right foot, he temporary takes a break from training.
