Deputy Director For Jobs-Skills Insights Division and Director for Centre for Skills-First Practices Skills Future Singapore
As Centre Director for Skills-First Practices at the Institute for Adult Learning, Edwin champions the adoption of skills-first practices in human capital development and optimisation by planners, hirers and trainers. Edwin has more than 15 years of experience in the education and training sector, with stints in policymaking, manpower planning, programme formulation, skills development and business development. He has worked with government agencies, trade associations, professional bodies, unions, training providers, tech solutions providers and international organisations to further the skills agenda in Singapore. He also provides career coaching to individuals. Edwin holds a Master of Information Sciences in Computer and Mathematical Sciences and a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechatronics and Precision Engineering, both from Tohoku University, Japan.
Edwin is concurrently Deputy Director with the SkillsFuture Singapore Agency, a statutory board under the Ministry of Education, where he leads a team of Jobs-Skills Analysts in developing jobs-skills insights to enable individuals, enterprises, training providers and government agencies to make informed decisions on jobs and skills.
